Ingredients Needed

- Hot Dogs: Beef, chicken, or turkey hot dogs will all work.
- Bacon: Buy a thin-cut bacon if possible for more even, crispy cooking and easier prep.
- Colby Jack Cheese: Adds a melty and gooey filling for your loaded hot dogs.
- Jalapenos: This optional topping provides a bit of bold and spicy flavor that pairs perfectly with the smoky bacon and dogs.
- Crispy Fried Onions: Add a subtle crunch and salty onion flavor.
How to Make Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs

- Step 1: Slice your hot dogs about halfway through, making sure not to fully slice them in half.
- Step 2: Stuff shredded cheese into the pocket of each hot dog.

- Step 3: Wrap the cheese-stuffed dogs with a piece of bacon, then use some halved toothpicks to keep the bacon in place.
- Step 4: Place bacon-wrapped dogs on a grill set to medium heat and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning often to avoid burning.

Recipe Tips
- The bacon will continue to crisp after you remove the dogs from the grill, so be careful not to overcook.
- Thin-cut bacon works best both for wrapping and for getting perfectly cooked, crispy results.
- Use a small knife to cut the hot dogs so you have good control over the depth of the slices.
- If you find the bacon is crisping up too quickly, transfer to indirect heat to prevent burning.

Recipe FAQ's
Be sure to use thinly sliced bacon to make it easier for the bacon to stay on the hot dogs. It also helps to use toothpicks to ensure the bacon stays attached.
No, the bacon will cook along with the hot dogs on the grill. It would be difficult to properly wrap the hot dogs if the bacon were already cooked!
Yes, preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Wrap each cheese-stuffed hot dog tightly with bacon and secure with toothpicks if needed. Place the hot dogs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
Cook for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is crispy and the hot dogs are heated through.
For topping options, you could go with sliced jalapenos or banana peppers, crispy onions, diced onion (raw or grilled), diced tomato, coleslaw, relish, ketchup and mustard, or even some chili!
