Ingredients

  • Chocolate cake mix prepared according to package directions
  • 3 tablespoon chocolate frosting
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 5 large candy canes crushed

Instructions

  • Using a fork, crumble the entire cake.
  • Mix frosting and 2/3 of crushed candy canes into the crumbled cake (I use my hands) until dough is able to be formed into balls.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Chill for 1 hour.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  • Roll each truffle in melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Add crushed candy canes quickly before chocolate hardens.
  • Chill before serving.

Notes

You can use chocolate bark broken into pieces instead of chocolate chips if desired.
