Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 8 frozen onion rings
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • 1/2 cup bbq sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet on medium-high heat and cook the bacon until crispy. To bake in the oven see notes.
  • Cook the onion rings according to the pkg directions and set aside.
  • In a small bowl add the paprika, garlic powder salt, and pepper and mix.
  • Divide the ground beef into 4 balls and shape it into patties about the same size as your bun. Using your thumb to form a slight dent in the center of the patty. Place them on a plate.
  • Season the patties with the spice mixture.
  • Heat a grill or skillet on medium-high heat, place the patties on the grill, and cook 4-5 minutes. Flip the patties and cook for another 2 minutes then place the cheese slices on top and let them melt while the patties finish cooking. Check the temperature using a digital meat thermometer. Place the patties on a plate to rest.
  • Place the buns on the grill to toast.
  • Spread a couple of tablespoons of barbecue sauce on the bottom bun. Then place two onion rings on the barbecue sauce followed by the patty and bacon, then the top bun.

Notes

To bake your bacon: You can make your bacon in the oven by placing them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil and bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until desired crispiness
I like to use Kinders bbq sauce but you can use whatever your favorite is.
