Pour in the French onion soup and beef consommé and mix.
Place the butter slices on top of the rice. Cover with aluminum foil.
Bake for 30 minutes remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes.

The butter allows for crunchy bites of rice on top, if you prefer it to be less crispy bake covered for 45 minutes then remove the foil for the remaining 15 minutes.I don't add salt to this rice dish but you can add some to taste after it's cooked.You can substitute beef broth or water for the beef consomme, just fill the French onion soup can with water or beef broth for the correct measurment and add it to the mixture.
