Sausage Rice Skillet is an easy one-pan dinner packed with smoked sausage, tender sweet peppers, crunchy broccoli, fluffy rice, and melty cheddar cheese. Ready in 30 minutes, it's a hearty family favorite!
2cupsfrozen broccolithawed cut into bite sized pieces
1teaspoonsmoked paprika
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoononion powder
1teaspoonsalt
½teaspoonblack pepper
¼teaspoonred pepper flakes
1cupcheddar cheeseshredded
Instructions
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet on medium high heat and the onions and red peppers and cook until soft about 3 minutes.
Add in the sliced sausage and cook until sausage starts to brown about 2-3 minutes, then add in the garlic and cook another 30 seconds.
Reduce the heat to medium high heat and add in the cooked rice, broccoli, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and red pepper flakes and mix until combined. Cooke 5-6 minutes or until heated through.
Turn off the heat and add in the shredded cheese and mix.
Serve!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.Smoked sausage, beef sausage, keilbasa will all work here.Fresh broccoli can be used, but I recommend cooking/steaming it first for 2-4 minutes.Directions for cooking white rice are above in the FAQ's
