3poundstop sirloin steakcut into bite sized pieces
½cupbeef stock
1small white onion cut into chunks
1packet au jus gravy mix
1packet ranch seasoning or 3 tablespoons homemade
8tablespoonbutter cut into 8 slices
6pepperoncini peppers
Instructions
Heat a large skillet or pot over medium high heat and add the oil. Add 1/2 of the steak pieces into the hot oil and sear on both sides for 2-3 minutes. Place the seared steak bites into the slow cooker. And repeat with the remaining steak bites.
Pour the beef stock over the beef, and add the chopped onions,
Sprinkle the au jus packet over the beef followed by the ranch seasoning.
Lay the butter slices on top then place the pepperoncinis.
Cook for 5-6 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high
Add salt and pepper to taste if needed.
Serve over mashed potatoes, rice or egg noodles.
Notes
Searing the beef is not required but highly recommended it adds a lot of depth to the flavor of the beef.You can also use a 3lb chuck roast for this recipe.
