Why Should I Make This Recipe?
This delicious recipe is just like all the other Mississippi recipes and has that delicious savory flavor that you know and love. The pepperoncini, with the butter, au jus gravy mix, and ranch coating everything makes it--- chef's kiss!
The best part is, you only need a couple of ingredients for this easy weeknight meal. If you know your entire family enjoys the classic Mississippi flavor, you know they'll love this dish with that great flavor too! You may also enjoy this Slow Cooker Pepper Steak!
Let's Gather The Ingredients

- Cooking oil: I used canola oil when searing the steak pieces
- Steak: I used top sirloin steak and cut it into small pieces, but you could use a 3-pound chuck roast instead.
- Beef stock: If you're sensitive to sodium, you may want to use unsalted beef stock since we are using
- Seasoning packets: make your own homemade ranch seasoning and you'll need a packet of au jus gravy mix
- White onion: cut into smaller chunks
- Butter: unsalted butter can be used since we have salt in the packets of seasoning.
- Pepperoncini peppers: sometimes I'll pour some of the juice from the jar in too.
How To Make Slow Cooker Steak Bites

- Step 1: In a large skillet, cast iron skillet, or Dutch oven, heat oil and add steak.
- Step 2: Sear steak on all sides for just a few minutes. Work in batches if needed. Searing helps lock in extra flavor.

- Step 3: Transfer seared, tender bites of steak to the Crockpot.
- Step 4: Pour beef stock over beef. Add chopped onions. sprinkle both seasoning packets over the beef. Lay butter slices on top, followed by the pepperoncini before placing the lid and cooking.

Recipe Tips
- Store leftover Steak Bites in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Sore the delicious gravy with the leftover steak pieces or in a separate container. Keep leftovers even longer by freezing them with the gravy/sauce in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container for up to a month.
- You can reheat leftovers in the microwave or reheat them in the oven. An easy way is to place leftovers inside of a foil packet so you don't directly cook or burn the steak as it heats back up. You can add a splash of stock in with the gravy to help loosen it up and to help keep the bites moist as you reheat this steak recipe.
- Add kosher salt and black pepper as needed.

Recipe Faq's
You can skip the searing the beef step and just put the raw steak straight in the Slow Cooker instead? However, I prefer to sear my steak first before tossing it in the Slow Cooker and I highly recommend doing so because I think it helps lock in the juices, keeping the juicy steak bites moist and tender all while adding a nice depth of flavor to the beef that you wouldn't otherwise get.
Pair it with your favorite sides like Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Baked Potatoes, some Air Fryer Baked Sweet Potatoes with your favorite vegetables, like Green Beans, or some simple steamed veggies or salad and you'll have a perfect meal for the whole family. You could also serve these Steak Bites on a bed of rice or egg noodles.

Loved this recipe, it’s delicious! A keeper! I served it over rice. Didn’t have the whole pepperoncini, just the sliced. But think I liked that better. Thank you for sharing!
