Recipe Tips

  • Keep your seasoning blend in a glass jar or other airtight container. It should last several months in your pantry.
  • This makes a great rub for grilling as well! If you're using it as a rub, add some brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Before using, give the seasoning a good shake and stir. The red pepper flakes tend to separate out from the rest of the spices.
  • Be sure to give your Tex Mex seasoning a taste and adjust to your liking. This recipe is super customizable, and you can even leave out some of the ingredients if you prefer!
  • Some other potential additions to this blend include ground coriander or cayenne pepper.
