Why this recipe works
Garlic Parmesan Air Fryer Potatoes are incredible and so easy to make and a delicious side to my Breakfast Omelet!
I love making Air Fryer recipes like these Garlic Parmesan Air Fryer Potatoes because you can get very similar results as you would with deep frying things without the extra mess or calories.
Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside are truly irresistible. An absolute game-changer for any meal just like my Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes!
Simple Ingredients
- Potatoes: I use Russet Potatoes, but Yukon Gold will also work great.
- Cooking oil: Olive oil or your other favorite oil
- Herbs and spices: Minced garlic, kosher salt, black pepper, fresh parsley.
- Grated parmesan cheese: Get the real stuff from the deli.
How To Make Air Fryer Parmesan Potatoes
- Step 1: Clean, prep and dice your potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Add prepped potatoes, olive oil, cheese, salt, pepper, parsley, and garlic to a large bowl. Use tongs to toss everything together in the mixing bowl.
- Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer for a few minutes and spray with Air Fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Add prepared potatoes to the basket and cook. Use tongs to move the potatoes around or shake the basket after cooking the first round for best results. Continue to cook until the potatoes have reached your desired level of crispiness and have a golden brown coat.
Recipe Tips
- You can peel the potatoes if you want, but it is not necessary. In fact, I think leaving the skins on makes it easier to get delicious crispy potatoes.
- Feel free to change up the seasonings on these potatoes. A mix of onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and fresh rosemary would also be another good combination for this easy side dish.
- Like a little heat? Add some red pepper flakes when you toss potatoes with the rest of the herbs and spices.
- You can play with the sizing of your potato pieces if desired.
- There is no need to soak or parboil your potatoes before frying.
- You can bake these on a baking sheet in the oven at 425F for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through. You'll get a similar result this way, but I think air frying gets them crispier.
Recipe Faq's
I would suggest usingย russet potatoes since they're my favorite. But, Yukon gold potatoes orย red potatoes would also work.
If you are used to frying potatoes in oil then this could be a healthier alternative since it is made with olive oil. The great thing about air fryers is that the air is circulating so fast at a high temperature, it makes the food crisp up quickly. So the beauty is that you get the crispy texture of fried food without frying in a pan of oil.
Yes! You can definitely make these potatoes without an air fryer.
Bake in an oven at 425 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray and bake for 15 minutes, flip and stir potatoes and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
