It’s perfect for those busy weeknights when you don’t have time to make a big dinner. Plus, they’re versatile with so many different ways to serve this delicious meal, they can be an appetizer, serve as a protein packed side, or act as a main dish with your favorite sides or served on a bed of white rice. 

Let's Gather the Ingredients

All of the ingredients needed for these kielbasa bites.
  • Beef kielbasa- you could swap the beef kielbasa out for turkey kielbasa, polish sausage, or other smoked sausage options
  • Brown sugar: Either light or dark will work.
  • White vinegar: Adds the perfect amount of tang.
  • Dijon mustard: Yellow mustard can be used in a pinch.
  • Red pepper flakes- an optional ingredient that brings a little heat

How To Make Kielbasa Bites

  • Step 1: On a cutting board, use your knife to slice the kielbasa into bite-sized pieces.
  • Step 2: Add brown sugar, white vinegar, mustard, and optional red pepper flakes to a large skillet or saucepan. Heat it all up, let the brown sugar melt, and stir occasionally to make your sauce.

  • Step 3: Place the sliced kielbasa on an aluminum foil-lined baking sheet. 
  • Step 4: Drizzle sauce over kielbasa and toss to fully coat before baking.

Recipe Tips

  • Leftover kielbasa can be stored in an airtight container and can be kept cold in the fridge for up to 4 days. 
  • As the sauce cools, the brown sugar will start to get sticky. That’s why I suggest lining the baking sheet. If you don’t have that, you can use a disposable baking pan. 
  • When cutting the kielbasa, be sure to cut in even slices so they cook and warm evenly.. 
  • Bring some more heat by adding some more red pepper flakes or using sriracha sauce when making the sticky sauce. 
  • Serve these as an appetizer using toothpicks to stab them with or assemble them on skewers- such an easy way to serve. You can serve with veggies and a carb, or even plop them on some slider buns and enjoy them as a sandwich. So many delicious ways to serve these Kielbasa bites!
  • You could serve these bites as an appetizer at a party or gathering. If doing so, I like to toss them in a small Crock Pot to keep them warm.

How can I make this a full sheet pan meal?

If you’re a fan of large sheet pan meals like me, you can toss some broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, green peppers, red peppers, diced white or yellow onion, small cobs of fresh corn, fresh green beans. You could even add diced red potatoes, golden potatoes, or yellow potatoes to the sheet pan. You could just make the sausage and veggies and then serve with some Mashed Potatoes, on a bed of white rice or cooked pasta too, for a complete meal.

Can I double this recipe?

Of course! This easy kielbasa recipe is simple to double or triple, just make sure you break it into batches when cooking on a sheet pan if you have a smaller pan. Doubling this is a great way to feed a crowd.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pkgs beef kielbasa
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • ½ red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Slice the kielbasa links into ½ inch slices and place them on a foil lined baking sheet
  • Heat a medium sauce pan on medium low heat. Add the brown sugar, vinegar, mustard and red pepper flakes. Let the brown sugar melt, stirring every couple of minutes.
  • Pour over the sausage and toss them with a spatula until coated
  • Bake 15 minutes, give them another toss and bake another 15 minutes.

Notes

The brown sugar will stick when it cools its highly recommend to use a foil lined baking sheet or disposable baking tin.
I use beef, but you can use whatever kind you prefer.
