Recipe Tips

  • Use full-fat cream cheese It gives your cheesecake a rich, creamy texture and helps it set properly. Make sure it’s softened before mixing to avoid lumps.
  • Crushing Oreos by hand for mix-ins more coarsely (instead of pulverizing them) adds texture to the filling and makes every bite more interesting.
  • Gently fold in the Oreos
  • Let it chill overnight at minimum, chill for 6 hours—overnight is best for a firm, sliceable cheesecake with great flavor.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes! This cheesecake is perfect for making ahead. It needs at least 6 hours to chill, but overnight is even better for a firm, sliceable texture.

Can I use store-brand cookies?

Yes! Most chocolate sandwich cookies will work just fine in place of Oreos.

Can I use whipped topping instead of homemade?

Yes, you can substitute whipped topping (like Cool Whip) if you prefer—it makes the recipe even easier and still delicious!
