Ingredients needed

All the ingredients needed for these nutter butter cookies.
  • Nutter butter cookies
  • Candy melts: I used white chocolate, but you can use anyย white candy meltsย if needed.ย 
  • Candy eyeballs: these can be found near the cake baking supplies in most grocery stores or can be ordered from Amazon. These help bring theย cute little ghost cookiesย to life.
  • Mini Chocolate chips: the mouth of yourย easy Nutter Butter ghosts

How to Make Nutter Butter Cookies

  • Step 1: Melt the white chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using 30-second intervals. Stir the chocolate in between rounds. Line aย baking sheetย withย parchment paperย while the chocolate melts. Once it's melted, dip each cookie into theย melted chocolateย about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down. Gently tap theย excess chocolateย on the side of the bowl and lay theย little ghostsย on the linedย baking sheet.ย 
  • Step 2: Before the chocolate sets, add your eyeballs and chocolate chip mouth usingย miniature chocolate chipsย to theย dipped cookies. Let theย fun cookiesย set for a bit before enjoying!

Recipe Tips

  • Instead of microwaving the white chocolate, you can use aย double boilerย to melt it. Always check out the directions on the back of your specific package of melting chocolate, almond bark, or candy coating pieces to ensure that you properly melt it.ย 
  • If you don't haveย candy eyes, you can use aย piping bagย to pipe eyes and a mouth on usingย black frostingย or melted milk chocolate.
  • Work quickly when you're dipping the cookies in the chocolate. If you waste too much time, the chocolate will start to firm up and it'll be harder to dip the rest of the cookies and then it'll start to harden before you get the eyes and mouth on.ย

Recipe Faq's

Can I cover theย easy Nutter Butter Ghost Cookies
ย entirely with theย melted chocolate
ย candies?ย 

I prefer not to dip theย entire cookie in theย melted chocolate, but if you want to, you can. I would suggest that you use a fork to dip the cookies in the meltedย white candy coating. Otherwise, making theseย cute ghost cookies can get really messy, very quickly, and it's a lot easier to wipe off theย excess chocolate off the cookies when you're holding it on the fork.ย 

What can I use instead of candy melts?

In place of the white chocolate candy melts, you can useย white chocolate chips orย white almond bark.ย 

How do I store Nutter Butter Coookies?

Theseย adorable ghost cookies will keep for up to 5-6 days if stored properly atย room temperature in anย airtight container or in a bag with the excess air removed.ย ย

Ingredients
  

  • 16 nutter butter cookies
  • 1- 12 oz bag of white chocolate candy melts
  • 32 Candy eyeballs
  • 16 Mini chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • In a medium sized bowl, melt the white chocolate melts in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in-between. You could also use a double boiler!
  • While the chocolate is melting, prepare a baking sheet, or large plate lined with parchment paper and set aside.
  • When the chocolate is melted, dip 1/2-3/4th of the nutter butter cookie into the melted chocolate and tap gently on the side of the bowl to remove excess. Carefully place onto the prepared parchment paper.
  • You will want to work quickly, so the chocolate doesnโ€™t start to ๏ฌrm up. Gently place two eyeballs and a mini chocolate chip for the mouth.
  • Let sit until chocolate has hardened. Enjoy!

Notes

You could use white almond bark, or even white chocolate chips!
These will store in an airtight container or bag for about 5-6 days.
