Ingredients Needed

- Ground Beef: Ground chicken or turkey can also be used.
- White Onion: I use white onion, but you can use yellow or red if you prefer.
- Garlic: I prefer to use fresh garlic, but feel free to use jarred if it's easier.
- Ketchup and Mustard: For the perfect zing in these cups.
- Biscuit Dough: Jumbo biscuit dough has proven the most reliable, but you should be able to make any kind work.
- American Cheese: Lots of cheese varieties work, but American cheese cubes are my favorite for this recipes.
- Toppings: I go with a classic combo of dill pickles, shredded lettuce, and some more diced onion.
How to Make Cheeseburger Cups

- Step 1: Cut each biscuit in half, then press flat.
- Step 2: Press each piece of dough into the sides of a greased muffin cup. Each biscuit half should be enough to fill each muffin pan cavity.
- Step 3: Heat a large skillet and add ground beef and onions. Cook until browned and mix in garlic, cooking until fragrant.
- Step 4: Add ketchup, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat.

- Step 5: Add a cheese cube or two to each muffin pan cavity.
- Step 6: Divide ground beef mixture evenly into each biscuit cup. Place in a preheated oven and bake for 6 to 7 minutes, then remove, place another cube of cheese on top of the ground beef cheeseburger mixture, then bake for another 7 to 8 minutes. Cool slightly, then remove and serve with toppings.
Recipe Tips

- For a slightly lighter take on this dish, use ground turkey or ground chicken instead.
- Feel free to use other sauces in the meat, like my Homemade BBQ Sauce for a different flavor profile.
- Other topping ideas include diced tomatoes, diced pickles, a bit of avocado, bacon bits, sour cream, or a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
- Biscuit dough works best, but you can also use crescent dough. You may have to mold it more to each muffin tin cavity.
- For leftovers, store in an airtight container or a plastic bag in the fridge for 3 days or so.
- You can also freeze your burger cups! Allow them to cool completely to avoid moisture, then transfer to a freezer bag and store for a month or longer in the freezer.
- Reheat burger cups in the oven or an air fryer at 350 degrees until the cheese is melty and the filling is heated through. Frozen burger cups are better to thaw first, but can probably be reheated right from frozen as well with a few extra minutes of cook time.

Recipe FAQ's
American cheese is a classic for cheeseburgers, but if you want something extra creamy you can also go for Velveeta cheese cubes or pop a cheddar cheese square into each cup along with the American.
I recommend biscuits for the easiest prep. Other similar ingredients like crescent rolls are also a great substitute if you can't find biscuits. Feel free to make your own homemade dough as well if you like!
Sure can! Follow the recipe and wrap your muffin tin with aluminium foil and place into the refrigerator until ready to bake.

Love that Colleen ๐
Fantastic recipe. Whole family enjoyed them. Had No leftovers. Son-in-law sprinkled hot sauce on top of his burger cups.
For something like this, I have used the Frozen Texas size Rhodes dinner rolls and made recipe as listed.
That would be delicious!
This sounds great! I have Mexican Velveeta so I'm going to try that.
