Ingredients needed

- Oreo Cookies- I used regular Oreos, but you can use double-stuffed Oreos too.
- Chocolate Candy Melts- I suggest getting the black candy melts for this recipe. But you can use dark chocolate chips if you prefer.
- Pocky sticks- These chocolate-covered biscuit sticks are what we use to make the spider legs. If you can't find any, you can use thin pretzel sticks in its place.
- Candy sticks- I used these for the pop stick. You could swap this out for a lollipop stick or other type of stick, just make sure the kids know that it's not edible like the pocky sticks.
- Candy eyeballs- You can get these at your local grocery store in the baking aisle, or in a craft store.
- Parchment paper- This is your work surface to let your spiders harden on. You can use a silicone baking mat as well.
How to Make Spooky Spider Cookies

- Step 1:Carefully separate the Oreos and place a candy stick in the center of the side with the cream and press down to make an indent.
- Step 2: Add in the chocolate pocky stick pieces.
- Step 3: Taking the second Oreo and taking off the top, place the extra stick (it will be discarded later) at the bottom and the remaining 2 pocky sticks at the top for the last set of spider arms.
- Step 4: Then add 6 Pocky stick pieces as the legs and push into the Oreo filling.

- Step 5: Dip the sticks into the melted chocolate and place them back into their grooves.
- Step 6: Dip the body and legs into the chocolate.
- Step 7: Dip the head into the chocolate.
- Step 8: Flip and place, the chocolate side up, onto parchment paper.

- Step 9: Take an unused Oreo half and place some chocolate in the center. Place the body with 6 legs over it and let it set.
- Step 10: Remove the stick from the head. Place chocolate on the underside of the head opposite the 2 arms.
- Step 11: Put a dab of chocolate on the back of the eyes and place it on the top of the head.
- Step 12: Place another dab of chocolate on the ends of the outreached arms and place a candy corn on them.

Easy Recipe Tips
- It may seem silly to transfer the chocolate from the bowl to a plate, but this makes it easier to dip the Oreos with the sticks attached into the chocolate without breaking the legs off of these Halloween Oreo pops.
- When dipping the body and head in the chocolate, don't leave the cookie pop in it too long or you'll risk detaching the legs.
- To jazz up your spider Oreo pops some more, you can add some chocolate sprinkles to the chocolate coating before it hardens.
- You can trade the black melting chocolates for some dark chocolate for the chocolate legs to bring another flavor to this great treat!

Recipe Faq's
Be very careful when storing your cookie pops so you don't break any legs off unintentionally. Place your special treats in a single layer in an airtight container and keep them at room temperature for up to 3-4 weeks. If you're storing the Oreo cookie spiders in layers, use some wax paper in between them to help make sure they don't break each other in the container.
Yes, if you don't want to use Pocky sticks or pretzel legs covered in chocolate, you can use black licorice as the spider legs. If you can't find that, you can use some red licorice and dip the licorice legs in chocolate, if desired. These fun spider cookies are easy to make and have plenty of options to use as legs if you are in a pinch.

Spider Oreo Cookie Pops
Ingredients
- 8 regular-size Oreos, any flavor
- 1 bag black chocolate candy melts
- 8 pocky sticks break each stick into 4 equal pieces
- 8 candy sticks
- 8 candy eye balls
- 4 candy corn
- Parchment paper or silicone mat
Instructions
- Add about 1 cup of black melts in a microwave cup or container. Place the melts in the microwave for 1 min. Then heat the melts in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until the candy is melted. This will be transferred to a plate for easier chocolate application later.
- Separate the top and bottom of 1 Oreo. Place a candy stick vertically in the center of the open-faced Oreo and press down into the filling to create a groove. Additionally place 6 pocky stick pieces, 3 on each side of the Oreo and press them in as well.
- Taking the second Oreo and taking off the top, place the extra stick (it will be discarded later) at the bottom and the remaining 2 pocky sticks at the top for the last set of spider arms.
- Dip the sticks into the melted chocolate and place them back into their grooves. You can spin the stick in place to get the chocolate on all sides. This will help“glue” the sticks to the Oreos. Allow the sticks to harden onto the Oreo entirely before the next step (about 2-5 min).
- Add the melted chocolate to a plate and dip the body and legs into the chocolate, then repeat with the head. You are only covering one side in chocolate. Flip and place, the chocolate side up, onto parchment paper. *Tip: Using a plate instead of a cup or bowl will help the arms stay on the body and ensure they don’t accidentally come off while being dipped. Don’t linger in the chocolate too long or it will melt off the chocolate holding the sticks.
- Take an unused Oreo half and place some chocolate in the center. Place the body with 6 legs over it and let it set.
- Remove the stick from the head. Place chocolate on the underside of the head opposite the 2 arms. Flip and hold the bottom of the head to the top of the body until adhered (about 10-20 seconds)
- Put a dab of chocolate on the back of the eyes and place it on the top of the head. Place another dab of chocolate on the ends of the outreached arms and place a candy corn on them.
- Allow the chocolate on the spiders to set completely for about an hour before handling and then they are ready to enjoy!
Notes
- When dipping the body and head in the chocolate, don't leave the cookie pop in it too long or you'll risk detaching the legs.
- Use chocolate chips instead of black melting candy.
- You can use this pretzels instead of pocky sticks.
I made these for my kids class wrapped each one in a cellophane bag and they turned out so cute!
