While you can't go wrong with Baked Buffalo Wings, Garlic Parmesan Wings, Spicy Ranch Baked Chicken Wings, or even Teriyaki Chicken Wings, these Crock Pot Chicken Wings are a show stopper! The flavor profile is just something you've never had before and leaves you craving more.
Why You Should Make These Wings
They make a great appetizer, will work as some fun game day snacks, and are a wonderful base for a main dish if desired to serve that way.
This Slow Cooker Chicken Wings recipe comes together with just 10 minutes of prep and then it's time to turn it over and let the slow cooker do its thing, slow cooking them to tender, perfect wings every time before you pop them in the broiler to crisp up just a tad.
These Crock Pot Wings make the perfect party wings that go with so many other fun party foods, like Honey Buffalo Meatballs, Philly Cheesesteak Sliders, and Pepperoni Pizza Pinwheels.
Plus, they're healthier than traditional deep fried wings and still get nice and crispy from the time spent under the broiler.
Let's Gather The Ingredients

- Chicken wings: Fresh or frozen will work.
- Herbs and seasonings: Salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and minced garlic cloves.
- Sauce: Homemade BBQ sauce or your favorite bbq sauce from the store
- Soda: Root beer or Dr Pepper
How To Make Slow Cooker Chicken Wings

- Step 1: Add BBQ sauce, paprika, garlic, and cayenne pepper to a small bowl. Mix together and set aside.
- Step 2: Place chicken wings to the Slow Cooker, season with salt, pepper, and cover with some of the sauce.
- Step 3: Pour soda into the Crockpot. Cover with the lid and cook.
- Step 4: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or a baking mat and transfer chicken wings to the lined sheet in a single layer. Brush the wings with the rest of the sauce and sprinkle with brown sugar. Place the baking sheet in an oven to broil the wings to get saucy, crispy chicken wings.

Recipe Tips
- Always check the internal temperature of the wings with a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches 165F before consuming.
- If serving these at a party, you can place the wings back in a clean Crockpot on the warm setting for up to 4 hours to keep them warm during the party if desired.
- Don't like crispy wings? No problem, you could just skip the broiling step that helps crisp up the exterior so they are similar to the texture that you would get when deep frying your chicken wings.
- Leftover chicken wings can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. You can freeze leftover Crockpot wings too.

Recipe Faq's
They can take anywhere from 2-4 hours in the Slow Cooker. Plus, they'll spend a few minutes under the broiler. As always, use a meat thermometer to be sure your chicken has reached a safe temp before serving your wings.
Yes — just add an extra 30–60 minutes to the cook time. For best texture, thaw first so they cook more evenly and the seasoning sticks better.
After slow cooking, transfer the wings to a baking sheet and broil for 3–5 minutes per side (or air fry at 400°F for 4–6 minutes) to crisp the skin.
