Tips for making Old Bay Wings In The Air Fryer

  • Always preheat the air fryer.
  • The size of your air fryer will make a difference in how many wings you can fry at one time. You don't want to overcrowd the basket.
  • Place chicken wings in a single layer in the basket or use a double-layer wire rack to pile more in.
  • Shake the basket or flip the wings after 15 minutes to allow them to brown evenly.
  • If you're making a double batch Preheat your oven to 250 degrees and place the cooked wings on a baking sheet to keep warm.
  • Serve them with a side of this Wingstop Ranch Recipe.

Notes

I buy the bag of frozen chicken wings from Costco and they are pretty big. If your wings are on the thinner side check them after 15 minutes for doneness.
All air fryers cook a bit differently you should always check them for doneness about 1/2 way though.

My kids absolutely love this recipe. I double the amount of spices for the same amount of meat (any cut of chicken, not just wings) and add avocado oil to make a paste. Then I fully coat the chicken and let it marinate as long as I am able. Even if it's only as long as it takes my oven to preheat, it's always full of flavour.

  2. All air fryers cook a bit differently. Some chicken wings are larger then others and will cook much faster.

I wasnโ€™t sure what granulated garlic was and didnโ€™t have it on hand. So I decided to use 1/2 tsp of garlic salt instead of the regular salt and the rest of the garlic measurement using garlic powder (2&1/2tsp). The first batch I flipped over after the first 15 minutes, however pulled them out about 7 minutes early the during the second 15min period. Glad I didnt cook for the full 30min cause thoug they were crispy, some were too dry. The seasoning was fine and tastes good but for the second batch I just did the 15min and they were already cooked by then. I even checked with a meat thermometer. Not as crispy obviously but at least they were tender and juicy.

This is my go to recipe for wings. I just make a big mix of the spices to have it ready for the next few times. Great recipe!
