  • Step 1: In a Dutch oven or other oven-safe, heavy-bottom pot, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  • Step 2: In the same pot, cook the diced kielbasa, then remove it and set it aside.

  • Step 4: Mix in garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper, and cook until fragrant. Remove from heat and drain excess grease using paper towels.

Ingredients
  

  • 6-8 slices bacon cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 (13.9 ounce) Klebasa sausage diced see notes
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1 cup green bell pepper diced
  • 4 cloved garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 (28 ounce) Cans of pork and beans do not drain
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Heat a Dutch oven or heavy-bottom pot on medium-high heat and add the diced bacon; cook until crispy, then remove to a paper towel to drain.
  • Add in the diced kielbasa sausage and cook just until slightly browned and remove to the paper towel.
  • Add in the ground beef, onions, bell peppers, and cook until browned. Add in the minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, and cook just until fragrant. Turn off the heat and remove any extra grease using a paper towel and tongs or drain in a strainer.
  • Add in the pork and beans, BBQ sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, and mix until combined.
  • Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes. Serve!

Notes

  • Any kind of sausage will work.
  • If you don't have an oven-safe pot or skillet, transfer the baked beans to a 9x13 baking dish.
  • This can be prepped a day or two ahead, you will have to add some baking time because it will be cold.
