Whether you’re prepping for a holiday party, a cookie exchange, or filling the family cookie jar, these simple, crowd-pleasing recipes will make your kitchen smell amazing and your season a little sweeter.

  • Make sure you spoon and level the flour. If you scoop your flour up, it will pack down and cause the dough to become dry.
  • Softened butter doesn't mean melted. I like to leave mine out for a couple of hours to come to room temp.
  • Most cookie dough freezes really well for up to 3 months but just allow them time to thaw a bit before baking.
  • To make perfectly shaped cookies right when they come out of the oven use a biscuit cutter or glass larger then the cookie and place it over the hot cookie and rotate in a circular manner. The warm cookie with form into a prefect circle. At this time you can add any mix-ins on top like chocolate chips to make a extra pretty cookie.
