You'll love the texture of these tender potatoes fluffy on the inside with the perfect fried exterior. They would be delicious with a sandwich made out of these Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Patties. You only need 30 minutes to make the best fried potato wedges that go perfectly with this Chopped Italian Sandwich. These Air Fryer Potatoes are a versatile side dish that goes with just about any main dish like these Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks.
Simple Ingredients
- Russet potatoes: these large potatoes can be swapped for Yukon gold potatoes, sweet potatoes, or even red potatoes
- Oil: olive oil and cooking spray for the Air Fryer basket. These can be swapped out for melted butter, canola oil, vegetable oil, or your preferred cooking oil of choice
- Herbs and spices: salt, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, and black pepper
How to make easy air fryer potato wedges
- Step 1: Prep your potatoes by washing, scrubbing, drying with paper towels and then cutting them into wedges.
- Step 2: Place wedges in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Next, sprinkle on the herbs and spices evenly. Toss the wedges to coat evenly with oil and seasonings.
- Step 3: Spray the basket of an Air Fryer with cooking spray before placing the seasoned potato wedges in the basket in a single, even layer. Cook and flip halfway through.
- Step 4: Check for doneness. Cooked potato wedges should be golden brown, have a crispy outside, and be fluffy and tender on the inside. Once cooked, remove and let cool briefly before serving with optional dipping sauce
Recipe Tips
- Cook in batches. Don't overcrowd the basket. Only place in a single layer when cooking the seasoned wedges.
- Store leftover potato wedges in a ziptop bag or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
- Dip these wedges in buffalo sauce or drizzle with hot sauce, BBQ sauce, ketchup, ranch dressing, aioli, honey mustard, blue cheese dressing, or your other favorite dipping sauce.
- Reheat potato wedges using the Air Fryer. Ditch the microwave, they'll turn out mushy or soggy, not nice and crispy.
- Flash Freeze these cooked potato wedges on a baking sheet for 1-2 hours. Transfer them to a freezer safe bag or container before freezing for up to 2-3 months.

It is not required to soak your potatoes before air frying them, but doing so will help remove any excess starch from the potatoes, resulting in crispier and more evenly cooked wedges. It is certainly worth it to try it.
